Meet Whitney Murray
“Just as a woman’s heart knows how and when to pump, her lungs to inhale, and her hand to pull back from fire, so she knows when and how to give girth.”
Hello there,
I’m a holistic, medical freedom fighting, Jesus-loving, Birth and Postpartum Doula, Certifying Childbirth Educator, and Certifying Lactation Counselor, serving families in Fort Wayne, Indiana and surrounding counties.
I’m a wife, mama to three little boys, sister, and friend. I’m a proud Taylor University graduate with a degree in Political Science, but birthwork has my heart and soul. I spend my time training in mixed martial arts, exploring new places, following my PGA Pro husband around the golf course, and chasing my boys around. I can usually be found with a cup of coffee in my hand. The closest people in my life would call me adventurous, independent, and ambitious. I’m an Indiana native, but an avid traveler who spent the past six years living in Ireland and Florida. It’s so good to be home.
My passions for pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding have been woven into my very being for as long as I can remember. Although I am working through certification programs, the majority of my knowledge is self-taught from my many years of curiosity and intuition. My own deeply personal experiences with pregnancy and childbirth have also been my greatest teachers. I’ve walked through recurrent loss, two HG (Hyperemesis Gravidarum) pregnancies, a smooth pregnancy, two waterbirths, one land birth, postpartum far away from family, a well-supported postpartum close to family, and the raw and beautiful moments of breastfeeding. I’ve always had a heart for serving my community and when I became a stay-at-home mom, I realized I needed some balance in my life by having a small purpose outside of the home. I combined my passions for birthwork, birth rights, and serving my community by becoming a Doula. I have my up-to-date CPR/AED and First Aid certifications. I’m also a member of a local Non-Profit organization called Community Doula Collective.
I’m so grateful to have had three wonderful birth experiences with midwives - two at stand-alone birth centers and one homebirth. I truly believe that those birth experiences were so wonderful by means of research, informed choices, the right support team, going into labor with a sense of autonomy, and trusting the physiological birthing process. My greatest goal in this is to be a small part of the bigger picture of creating more positive birth outcomes for mothers and babies in the state of Indiana. I’m really drawn to (but not limited to) mothers who desire to experience physiological, undisturbed birth. I’m a massive advocate for waterbirth and homebirth, but also achieving an undisturbed birth in a hospital setting! Every mother is deserving of support and every mother is capable. I am so excited to come alongside each of you, to laugh with you, to cry with you, to be in the trenches of childbirth with you, and to help you achieve your DREAM BIRTH. Because it is 100% possible.
Welcome! I am so glad that you are here.
